WANT Now I WANT - Baskets in SUPERMARKETS 20050521

When I want it, I cannot get it.... When it comes to BASKETS in SUPERMARKETS, it is still "not solved."

I wrote to Cold-Storage, Carrefour, and NTUC Fairprice about the concern that 95% of shoppers walk straight into the supermart without taking a Basket or Trolley. They then pick an item or two, and realize that needed to pick MORE. Then they run back to the front to get a Basket or a trolley.

Cold-Storage responded and said they would try to have BASKETS deep inside the store. Carrefour replied that they will "look into it."

Then as I shopped at Mustafa SINGAPORE this morning 20050521, I was delighted to see heaps of nice YELLOW Baskets all over the Store. Yes, they DO NOT have baskets at the Entrance, and have them DEEP in the store. And as I grabbed one thing, and one more, I just picked a Basket and filled it up, and I felt SO glad that I could carry the stuff.

www.mustafa.com.sg (and a great website - good title Mustafa Online on HomePage).

I did not have to rush back to the FRONT to get a Basket. And I know some of us, when we go to the FRONT, we decide that it is NOT WORTH the TROUBLE going back in, so we WALK OUT! No SALE.

Well, if Store people sat and OBSERVE the behaviour of shoppers, they can really serve them well.

I WANT and I WANT it NOW....
